November challenge

Here's my entry for the November Challenge over at The Craft Garden. The theme for this month is SPARKLE it's up to you how little ot much sparkle you use just a hint of glitter will do, but most crafters are not happy with just a little glitter. I ended up with quite a bit of sparkle due to the bottle of stickles exploding but ho hum cant beat sparkle. Why not pop over to the The Craft Garden and have a look in Kerry's shop which is packed with yummy Prima Flowers.

Here's my entry apologies for the photo the light was really poor when i took it

Back to school

Well the school hols are finally over, well nearly back to school on Tuesday. Normally i'm not ready for the kids to go back as quite like them being at home but got to say this year I am. Think the bad weather has'nt helped so we've had a few "im bored" but on a whole it has'nt been all too bad. Last weekend we had our annual Rainbow sleepover and have to say it went off without a hitch and all the girls were really good. I'm so pleased it all went well as this time I was being assessed for my overnight licence and my mentor was fantastic she was really supportive and was very happy with everything we were doing. I was presented with my certificate and all I have to do now is get the accounts passed and I will gain my qualification. Hopefully i will be able to get more crafting done and try get some more christmas cards done. I have just purchased my first digi stamps and have got to say they are fantastic just need to have a play with them, so if anyone knows of any good digi stamp sites I would be grateful for some pointers.

Sleepover time

arghh it's that time of year again Rainbow sleepover time. It comes around so fast and i'm always worried & stressed with the build up but hopefully ive got everything in order and it should go off without a hitch. Were only taking 8 girls this year so a nice number but masses of paperwork to do and lots of shopping but the car is half packed all ready for the big event tomorrow. Hopefully we should get some sleep but never plan to get much and no doubt come Monday the stress will have gone lol well as soon as their parents pick them back up. Wish me luck im sure we will have lots of fun fingers crossed

Another christmas card done thats 4 now lol

exam results time

Tomorrow is GCSE results day and got to say im not looking forward to it, just hoping my son gets results he needs to carry on at 6th form. Hit a bit of a problem though as results are out from 10ish and my daughter has her physio appointment at 10 so need to split myself in two to keep everyone happy. We're halfway through another week of the school hols and still no sign of summer, can guarantee day they go back the sun will show itself. Went to the local park today for a dog walk needed a hard hat as kept getting smacked on the head from falling conkers. Was quite surprised at how many of the tree's are changing colour and losing their leaves and it's only August not looking good is it?. Had a proud moment today as my 5 yr old had been for occupational therapy and came out beaming and very giddy all because she had learnt to tie her shoe laces. I know its not a massive thing but we did'nt expect it and were quietly told by the therapist it would probably take her quite a while to manage it but she did it and im proud as punch. This is following her learning to ride her bike unaided which is another big acheivement these holidays (another hurdle she has overcome) so in the big picture these holidays have been really good and I have a very confident little girl. Oh well i'd better go and sit and worry about results tomorrow. But to finish here's a card I made and the 3rd christmas one ive managed to get done.

Lazy Sunday

Well i've decided im going to have a lazy Sunday. Weird thing is it has'nt been that lazy until now, so far i've hoovered, dusted (in a fashion), done 2 loads of washing & pegged it out, a pile of ironing, walked the dog all before lunch. Now im sat watching the F1 and ive decided it's gonna be a lazy sunday. Steven has taken little one to visit nanna & grandad so im enjoying the peace & quiet even if it will be short lived. Hope you all have a good Sunday too and go pop over to The Crafty Den for a chance to win some fab candy.

Where did the weeks go?

Well were approaching the end of August already can't believe how fast the school hols are flying by. Before we know it we will be rushing around like headless chickens for Christmas pressies. But before all that we have the dreaded school uniform shopping to so. I thought i was organised and had everything only to discover a new coat is needed plus shoes & trainers not to mention pinafore dresses & tights argh. Well I braved the shoe shops on Monday and because Clarks was so busy they had a adopted a 2 queue system, 1 queue for measuring then join another queue for fitting. I felt sorry for the young lady who shouted our number for fitting little did she know what she was taking on LOL. With Daisy and her strange feet not to mention her insoles that have to fit in her shoes things started to go downhill very quickly. The young lady was extremeley helpful and very patient even after the 12th pair of shoes only to look defeated when she could'nt get a single pair to fit properly (poor lass). Anyways we left the shop not happy chappies but wandered to Hush Puppies and after the 4th pair we managed a pair that fit well I say fit I don't expect miracles. Lets hope we get 3 months growing room as promised as im dreading the next visit.

Well im managing to get a bit of crafting in but not much but each card makes is one less of the list

Happy Crafting all xx

It's now school hols so the next few weeks will be a blur of playmobil, colouring, kids tv and Dr who but i will come out fine at the end (I hope). sorry

I cant believe it's been so long since i updated this. I think im going to have to make myself do it at least once a week. Anyways nothing much happening with me not got much crafting done over last few months but really need to get a move on as i have a list of cards as long as 2 arms. Well since i last posted ive been on my jolly's and had a great time in Newquay the weather was gorgeous so lots of lazy time on the beach. Left Steven & Daisy digging holes in the sand whilst i laid back & read a book (why do men have to dig big holes in the sand?) Now i think it's time to start making cards as i will be moaning when im getting Christmas orders.

I hate bank holidays

Well another bank holiday over thank goodness, why are they so boring. Set off with a good plan today which was to get a picnic together and take Daisy & the dog to Bretton country park. As the morning wore on Daisy became more & more miserable and developed a temperature so bang went the picnic plan. So spent the afternoon walking along the canal just me & the mutt, didnt realise it was so sunny until I got home and realised i had a burnt face and nose. Decided to relax in the garden only to have to watch hubby wrestle with a beach shelter we had bought for our hols (he thought it was a good idea to try it out). After 5 mins of watching him struggle i gave in and helped, yep you guessed it within minutes i had the thing up, only for the dog to think it's something to drag around the garden. Hopefully Daisy will have recovered for tomorrow as we have another week of bike riding sessions with the physiotherapist so not a relaxing 1st week of the hols. Anyway here' a card & box i made for this weeks challenge from Wendy for the Crafters Companion Forum I really enjoyed this challenge, have a look at Wendy's blog and join in the challenge.

Or better still im sure Daisy would love to spend the day with nanna & grandad lol. Not been up to much this week, the garden really needs some tlc but with all the wet weather it can wait. Took dog for a lovely haircut yesterday im sure they switched dogs, looks nothing like the mutt I dropped off. But all the pampering was in vain as after his walk today he needed yet another shower, why does he think every muddle puddle is there especially for him to roll in. Okay i'll post piccie of card i made using the blog candy i won last week thanx again Steph.

I'm on a roll

Well thought i'd have a lazy morning making cards. All started off well until Branston (the dog) thought it would be a good idea to steal everything i had out. So in between telling him off, sending him into the kitchen for time out and after nearly pulling my hair out i did threaten him that i would open the gate and make him leave home. I quickly lost heart in the cards and opted to have an early lunch and take the mutt out for his walk. To top the day off i got soaked but as long as the dog is happy who cares about me lol. Well i did manage to get 2 cards made if you spot any paw prints you know they're not mine

I won

Well after my awful weekend im so pleased i won Steph's blog candy. I can't wait to get my hands on the gorgeous Sugar Nellie stamp not to mention the Prima flowers, thanx again Steph. Well its back to the usual daily school runs and filling in holes in the garden the dog decided to dig. Maybe by the end of the week he will get to Australia (fingers crossed). Thought i'd be nice mum today and cook lol only to discover when id put all the vegetables in my brand new steamer all the water had disappeared. After much head scratching i realised it was all over the worktop and dripping on the floor yes the brand new steamer had a leak all the water id poured in leaked straight out the bottom. I was not a happy bunny had to take all the veg out again wash they stupid thing bag it up then marched back into the tefal shop to exchange it and the new on works a treat. Only hope the one i bought my neice for her engagement pressie does'nt have the same problem. Well i will now sit next to the letter box waiting for Mr Postie to deliver my win

Happy crafting everyone x

whoops

Well typical of me forgot to post on here for a while but i blame my age. Been quite busy with card orders so trying to do catch up. Im sure i would make it easier for myself if i started making cards as soon as i get the order instead of leaving it until the last minute. Im quite stressed as i type the pub next to me is having an outdoor rock concert which has been going on since 1pm and will prob go on for hours yet. My head has left my body and taken my ears with it i would love to get hold of the idiot in the council who granted permission and string him up by his ... use you imagination. But hopefully this will be the last year we will have to put up with is as I am on a mission so watch this space. Happy crafting x

Ho hum weekend again

ho hum weekend again Well got to say first week back at school passed really quickly. How come when kids at school you have to drag them out of bed, not happy enjoyed a nice bottle of wine in hope of a sleep in only to hear the sweet voice of a 5yr old outside my bedroom door at 6.45am arghh. But did manage to make a few cards last night before the wine kicked in. I really need to get myself a system when making cards one that consists of me making very little mess. I always start off with good intentions but somehow it comes undone. The lounge always resembles a bomb site with paper, ribbons & brads all over the place and why cant i ever find the scissors even when i just put them down (in that safe place). I live in hope that one night whilst im sleeping the craft room fairies will come & build me my own little room one where i can make as much mess as i like. Here's the 3 cards made last night.

Back to school

woohoo its back to school, saying that got to admit i quite like the kids being at home no rushing about doing the school run. But the peace & quiet is nice, but with the dog running round the garden trying to chase the guinea pigs maybe kids at home is quieter lol. Rainbows were back after the easter break all hyped up and giddy with lots of stories to tell. I always come home with a headache but love doing it.
